First Volvos For Paul Oven Cements Partnership
Container haulage specialists Paul Oven Container Logistics have taken delivery of four new Volvo FH12 tractor units from Volvo Truck & Bus (South), cementing a relationship which sees the Volvo Dealer operating from the company’s workshop.
When Paul Oven moved to a new 3.5-acre site at Kings Lynn in May 2003, Volvo South negotiated a 10-year deal to move into their 5-bay workshop in December 2003 to maintain all the company’s trucks and trailers.
The 420bhp 6x2 artics are Paul Oven Container Logistics first ever Volvo’s and have been specified with Globetrotter cabs in ‘Comfort’ trim - with climate control and CD players - and Volvo’s I-Shift automated manual gearbox.
“Our new Volvo’s signal what we hope will be a long, fruitful partnership with Volvo South over the coming years,” says Managing Director Paul Oven. “The trucks themselves were bought after we were very impressed with a demo vehicle we had on trial. The fuel performance is promising and our drivers are enjoying the comfort the FH12 has to offer.”
The trucks will be used on Paul Oven’s container haulage contract for Princes Foods and are on a three year repair and maintenance contract with Volvo Truck & Bus South.
